Delaware Youth Sports Organization Reaches $50,000 grant milestone
Foundation that awards grants to local sports groups hits new milestone

Lewes, DE., June 2, 2022 – Since its inception in 2016, The Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports has been focused on providing funding to local youth sports organizations and families in need to ensure all kids get the opportunity to participate in a sports activity. The foundation remains committed to that effort and is pleased to announce that it has now surpassed $50,000 in grants and scholarships awarded back into Delaware communities. Grants and scholarships have ranged from $200 to $ 3,000 and the money provided has been spread across all three Delaware counties. Based on registration fees, which can range from $35 to 1,000 depending on the sport and length of season, it is estimated that this funding has enabled over 750 children to participate in local sports programs.

This spring the foundation awarded over $7,000 in grants and scholarships to support kids participating with the Delmarva Destroyers baseball program, Olympiad Gymnastics, Roberto Clemente Baseball League, Tennis Rocks, and First Tee.

If you are a coach, team manager, sports facility administrator, school counselor, or parent and know of a local sports team or child that is in need of financial assistance please contact the foundation. Delaware youth sports groups and interested parties can download the applications from the foundation’s website at www.jasonandersonfoundation.org.. There is no time more urgent than now to get our kids back on to the playing fields, in to the gyms, in to the pools, or on to the courts to grow those valuable life lessons of teamwork, leadership, and friendship.
