The Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports, wishes to express its deepest thanks to the Delaware Sports Commission and the Slam Dunk to the Beach Committee for, once again, selecting our Foundation as its charitable organization of choice for the 2016 Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit the Foundation’s goal is to help children in need participate in a community organized youth sports activity. In its 2016 inaugural year the Foundation awarded $8,000 in grants to several youth sports organizations throughout Delaware. This year’s tournament enabled us to raise close to $2,000 toward our 2017 goal by providing an opportunity to conduct our first annual fundraising auction, donating the proceeds from the tournament’s 50/50 raffle, and also enabling us to increase our visibility to the community.

The Foundation will now begin the 2017 process of accepting and awarding Spring grants to local youth sports organizations that share our goal of ensuring that children in need are given the opportunity to participate in an organized community sponsored sports program. It is our hope that all children can learn the important life experiences of teamwork, leadership and friendship while also benefiting from well-organized physical fitness activities.
